So, continuing from my previous post, after our trip to the Sagrada Familia and Arc de Triomf we made our way back to our AirBnb. After being drenched from head-to-toe we needed to get home, freshen up and then decide what to do. To be honest, we were so tired it was extremely tempting to just stay indoors.
Whilst we were looking at things to do on Google, Richa came across the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc. From the pictures and reviews it sounded like something we had to do whilst in Barcelona. Fortunately, the water show was scheduled for Sunday so we were able to attend. The fountain was 45 minutes away from our place and being the troopers we are, we walked the entire distance. I’m glad we did, because we saw so many sights along the way and the temperature was perfect for walking. Plus it had stopped raining, almost as if God wanted us to attend 😛
We arrived around 9.25pm and the show was starting at 9.30pm, expectedly there was already a huge crowd around the fountain but luckily we got front row tickets (aka we sat really close to the fountain). From the beginning till the end, the water show was beautiful. It was so captivating; they played music in the background so it looked like the water was dancing to the rhythm of the song. The colours were changing, the height of the water was changing, the vibe was changing, everything about the entire show was magical. I could understand why it was called Magic Fountain. In the background there was the National Museum of Art of Catalunya, which looked beautiful lit up. The entire vicinity was magical.
So here it is, 9 shots from the 200+ pictures I took of the fountain. I’ll upload a video soon, so you guys can get a better feel of the water show but for now, enjoy the pictures!
Oh, and we ended our day with delicious, freshly made churros.
nos vemos más tarde, besos x
