The Sistine Chapel is everything you would expect and more.

I was really excited to visit the Sistine Chapel and see the art work and its greatness in real life and I can’t tell you how beautiful it was. The chapel itself is in the Apostolic Palace, the official residence of the Pope. It’s very renowned for its ceiling paintings and “The Last Judgement” by Michelangelo.

It is VERY strict inside the Sistine Chapel; you have to cover yourself up, be extremely quiet and not take any photos. Evidently, I did not oblige to the last rule and I am very sorry about that. Everyone around us was taking pictures and videos so I did as well! The only rule people stuck to was about staying quiet- which is quite noble and commendable, because it meant no one could snitch on each other.

After the Sistine Chapel, we went back to the city to visit the Trevi Fountain, which sadly was under construction. I was really sad I didn’t get my Lizzie McGuire moment, I really wanted to throw a coin into the fountain- I even had special coins ready!! Instead we just went for gelato- TWICE.

Also I made a short video of our first official day in Rome, Enjoy!
