When you’re in a long distance relationship with your best friends it is vital you spend as much time with them as possible and go to every place they want to visit. Since KP was visiting, we decided to go all the way to the other side of London to visit Petersham Nurseries. If you want to escape the hectic London crowd (especially during the pre-Christmas rush) I highly recommend you visit. If you don’t want to travel very far from Central London, then there’s a mini version in Covent Garden.
Nestled in the nook and cranny of Richmond, Petersham Nurseries takes you to the the most perfect English countryside setting. It’s peaceful, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery.
The place is, as suggested by the name, a nursery. There are varieties of plants, cutlery, candles, home goods, garden goods and food on offer. Be warned, everything is a little over priced but it is totally worth visiting if you want to the escape the city. There were two different places you could eat; a ‘formal’ restaurant and the more casual teahouse. We chose to eat at the teahouse.
We got the daily special of pork ragu & side salad, mozzarella sandwich, walnut and chocolate cakes and tea. I have to say, the menu wasn’t very vegetarian friendly. They only had one hot option for veggies which was soup and the only other option was a sandwich which couldn’t even be toasted. Plus it was literally just a blob of mozzarella and pistachio pesto… not my favourite meal. On the positive, the walnut and chocolate cakes were both divine as was the tea.
The lighting here was perfect so you can imagine how many pictures we took.
Every corner was super photogenic, so rustic and pretty. I couldn’t help but take hundreds of photos. I’ve only uploaded a handful to not bore you guys. But be assured, everything is even more beautiful in real life.
My outfit: Shirt- Pieces from Asos; Jeans- American Eagle; Boots- Dune; Jacket- Barbour (top pic); Earrings & Watch- Asos
Petersham Nurseries is beautiful and perfect for escaping the city. It’s even better if you love nature and plants. Can’t wait to go back in the summer and sport a summer dress in the middle of blooming flowers and do another photo shoot.
Till my next stop x
