Day 3 in Barcelona was so much sunnier and it was Richa’s birthday!
We started our day with fresh orange juice from the super cute (and yellow) Demasié cafe, then made our way to Park Güell. We decided to walk to the park because it was such a lovely day and the route was very simple, however it was over an hour long. Along the way we discovered local businesses selling really cute souvenirs and best of all ice-cream! Like five year old kids, we were so excited to have ice-cream, especially since it was so hot and we’d managed to reach Park Güell in one piece.
We wanted the iconic photo everyone takes in Barcelona, with the city in the background and Gaudi’s masterpeice surrounding us, however the tickets to Gaudi’s exhibition had sold out so we could only visit the surrounding park. Despite this, we were still able to enjoy Park Güell in all its glory, we hiked all the way to the top and got a panoramic view of the city. Along the way we saw musicians, Gaudi’s house, flowers and so much more.
Our last stop for the day was to Barcelona beach. I was so excited about finally going to the beach because I bought a really cute beach bag and needed to show it off. We relaxed on the beach with some drinks and snacks, it was the best way to spend Richa’s birthday (well I hope she thought so too). On our way home we were super peckish and really craving chips, but there weren’t any fast food restaurants. Then magically, a golden star appeared, a take-away dedicated entirely to chips!! We were so excited we rushed in and got a large with cheese and ketchup- it was heavenly. A perfect end to a beautiful day.
nos vemos más tarde, besos x
