One of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to in London. I’ve never been happier to discover Yori.
Korean food and I have a strong love-hate relationship. I’m not the biggest fan of the cuisine yet I always crave it.. strange isn’t it. I’ve been to a few Korean restaurants but nothing ever really stood out. Seoul Bakery was my go-to till I stumbled across Yori. Not only did it have good ratings on zomato but it actually lived up to it as well!
Dokkboki, rice and vegetarian bibimbap.
The dish I have the most mixed feelings about is Dokkboki. Until Yori I hadn’t found dokkboki that tasted decent, or one I enjoyed anyway. The rice cake (the glutenous sticky goodness) was perfectly cooked and had a great ratio of sauce:rice cake. The spiciness was just right and even the fishcakes tasted good. It also had some vegetables in it for some extra crunch- which wasn’t necessarily needed but it added an element to the dish which was nice.
The vegetarian bibimbap had a good mix of rice and vegetables so it wasn’t just dominated by one flavour. You also get chilli sauce on the side, which is a must for bibimbap, it makes a huge difference to the dish. We were also given complementary side dishes of pickled bean sprouts and seaweed. The best combination was dokkboki and rice, they went perfectly together. Definitely heavy on the carbs but it makes the perfect comfort food.
As we were in a rush we couldn’t try many dishes but the ones we did have were fab and I’ve never been happier to discover a Korean restaurant that I actually love. I hope I continue to find more gems like Yori
Yori is highly recommended and everyone must try the dokkboki- it’ll leave you wanting more.
Till my next eat x
