Da Mario, Covent Garden | Review
Every Friday I meet up with my girlfriends for dinner and we always try to go somewhere none of us have been to. This time we chose an Italian restaurant called ‘Da Mario’.
I saw posts about this restaurant on Instagram and the food looked absolutely delicious. Plus, everyone was saying how it was THE place Princess Diana went for pizza! How could we not go after hearing that??
There are two branches of Da Mario, one in South Kensington and another in Covent Garden. We chose to go to the one in Covent Garden because it was closer and we had plans after dinner. We got to the restaurant around 6.30pm (without a reservation) and we were immediately turned away because there was no space 🙁
So there we were, outside the restaurant, trying to frantically find another place to eat at. Thankfully, the food Gods were looking out for us and the restaurant manager came out and called us back in. He told us we had 1.5hrs in the restaurant. This was perfect!
We decided to go for lobster pasta and truffle pasta with prosecco on the side. We were celebrating something… probably just eating good food. Lol.
The food was incredibly delicious. It took me straight back to Italy. The truffle pasta was so creamy and buttery, every bite was so rich and delicious. The lobster linguine was creamy and tomatoey, and so fresh. It had generous amounts of lobster in it, so with every bite you would get the sweet, juicy lobster pieces. It was truly divine. Da Mario is a cosy little restaurant that is ALWAYS busy so make to make a reservation but it is sooo worth the trip. Perfect for Valentine’s Day 😉 Next time I will definitely be trying the pizzas Princess Diana loved so much!
I give the food 9/10
Till my next eat xx
