Buda Castle and the Citadella #HelloHungary

After Fisherman’s Bastion, we took a bus over to Buda castle, only to realise the bus stopped 10 seconds later. Buda castle is a 10 minute walk away from fisherman’s bastion.

The vicinity of the castle is absolutely huge (as expected). We walked along the the front of the castle, over a small “bridge” then down to the museum. We were actually trying to leave but we got so confused and lost so I took pictures instead.

After walking down a never-ending path of sharp meanders, we finally arrived at an escalator. Then we had to walk down another path to get to the main road. It was like they never wanted us to leave the castle.

Our next stop was to the Citadella, the highest point in Budapest. We took a tram to Gellert Hotel then hiked all the way up. It took us around 15 minutes to get to the top, which wasn’t bad at all. It’s quite a steep walk but there is a playground on the way if you feel like taking a break.

People thought we were crazy hiking to the top wearing skirts and heels but we did it and we conquered that hill! It was the best feeling, especially knowing we’d be spending the next few hours in a thermal bath.

Till my next stop x
