Day 2 in Barcelona was less sunny than anticipated. Prior to the day, we had planned an itinerary including: Picasso museum, Arc de Triomf, Sagrada Familia and other Gaudi works. Unfortunately tickets for the Picasso museum were all sold out so we couldn’t go, on top of that it started to pour down with rain!
However, we didn’t let that stop us. Our first stop was to Arc de Triomf (the bright picture is from another day hehe). It was so close to our AirBnb and central to everything making it perfect for walking. We then made our way to the Sagrada Familia, by this time the light drizzle turned into torrential rain so we took shelter outside of five guys and then a gift shop where we bought some souvenirs- time well spent. The Sagrada Familia is stunning, the gothic details are unlike anything I’ve seen before.
Our third stop of the day was to Casa Milà, it was raining so much we didn’t take a single picture of the place. Once again, we took shelter in the gift shop and learnt a lot about Gaudi and his works.. well as much as we could through picture books. As we were making our way home, we found another of Gaudi’s works: Casa Batlló, both buildings were so beautiful and colourful, really stood out from the rest of the avenue.
Our day didn’t finish there, but since our next adventure was so beautiful I’m creating a whole other blogpost, so see ya there!
Till my next post x
This purple tree was all over Barcelona, it was so beautiful. Plus it was directly opposite our AirBnb so we never forgot our accommodation.
